SUKKUR: A baby dolphin was rescued from shallow waters of Ali Behar Wah near Ranipur and released it into the Indus near here on Friday.

According to the wildlife department officials, they received an information that a calf of blind Indus dolphin was moving in the shallow waters of Ali Behar Wah near Ranipur, a team of experts rushed to the scene and rescued it.

According to them, female baby dolphin was 18-month old, weighing 16 kg and its length was 3.5 feet.

The wildlife staff released the dolphin in the Indus near Satten-jo-Astaan after attaching a transmitter to its body to monitor its movement.
