دبئی میں کھیلے گئے ورلڈ کپ کے سپر 12 راؤنڈ کے میچ میں آسٹریلیا نے ٹاس جیت کر سری لنکا کو بیٹنگ کی دعوت دی۔

سری لنکا نے اننگز کا آغاز کیا تو 15 کے مجموعی اسکور پر پتھ نسانکا صرف 7 رنز بنانے کے بعد پیٹ کمنز کی وکٹ بن گئے۔

اس کے بعد کوشل پریرا کا ساتھ دینے چارتھ اسالانکا آئے اور دونوں نے عمدہ کھیل پیش کرتے ہوئے پاور پلے میں مزید کوئی وکٹ نہ گرنے دی۔

دونوں نے جارحانہ انداز اپنایا اور 6 اوورز میں اسکور کو 53 تک پہنچا دیا۔

ابھی اسکور 90 تک ہی پہنچا تھا کہ سری لنکا چوتھا نقصان پہنچا اور آوشکا فرنینڈو صرف 4 رنز بنا کر زامپا کی دوسری وکٹ بن گئے۔

سری لنکا کو ایک اور دھچکا اس وقت لگا جب ونندو ہسارنگا ڈی سلوا بھی صرف چار رنز بنانے کے بعد مچل اسٹارک کی گیند پر وکٹ کیپر کو کیچ دے بیٹھے۔

94 رنز پر آدھی ٹیم کے آؤٹ ہونے کے بعد بھنوکا راجا پکسے کا ساتھ دینے کپتان داسن شناکا آئے اور دونوں نے چھٹی وکٹ کے لیے 40 رنز جوڑے۔

داسن شناکا 12 رنز بنانے کے بعد چلتے بنے لیکن راجا پکسے کے 33 رنز کی بدولت سری لنکا کی ٹیم مقررہ اوورز میں چھ وکٹوں کے نقصان پر 154 رنز بنانے میں کامیاب رہی۔

آسٹریلیا کی جانب سے کمزن، اسٹارک اور زامپا نے دو، دو وکٹیں حاصل کیں۔

ہدف کے تعاقب میں آسٹریلین اوپنرز نے شاندار کھیل پیش کرتے ہوئے اپنی ٹیم کو 70 رنز کا عمدہ آغاز فراہم کیا۔

دوسرے اینڈ سے ڈیوڈ وارنر نے ڈراپ کیچ کا فائدہ اٹھاتے ہوئے ایک عرصے کے بعد اپنی پہلی نصف سنچری مکمل کرنے کے ساتھ ساتھ اسٹیو اسمتھ کے ساتھ 50 رنز کی شراکت بھی قائم کی، وہ 10 چوکوں کی مدد سے 65 رنز بنانے کے بعد پویلین لوٹے۔

اس کے بعد اسمتھ اور اسٹوئنس نے مزید کوئی وکٹ نہ گرنے دی اور اپنی ٹیم کو 17 اوورز میں ہدف تک رسائی دلا کر میچ میں 7وکٹوں کی فتح سے ہمکنار کرا دیا۔

لیگ اسپنر ایڈم زامپا کو بیٹنگ وکٹ پر عمدہ باؤلنگ اور 12 رنز کے عوض دو وکٹیں لینے پر میچ کا بہترین کھلاڑی قرار دیا گیا۔
